Getting to the Base Camp

The Race Base Camp is located at the Akademi Bomba in Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB). Photos, route map and directions to the base camp is available below - just click to view the larger image. We look forward to seeing you at the race!

Directions

• Take the PLUS highway heading north to Ipoh / Penang

• On the PLUS highway, take the Tanjung Malim, KKB, Sabak Bernam exit (immediately after the Bernam Jaya Bridge)

• After the toll plaza, go straight following the KL-Ipoh signboard

• At the end of the road, there's a set of traffic lights at a t-junction. Turn right at the traffic lights and go straight all the way. There'll be signboards stating KL-KKB along the way

• Along the way, you'll pass a Caltex petrol station on the right side of the road. After Caltex, further along you'll a big signboard stating KKB and after that you'll see at Shell petrol station on the left side of the road

• Then you'll come to a major road intersection with traffic lights, turn left at the traffic lights into KKB (17.9km)

• After that you'll come to a Petronas and Esso petrol stations respectively on the right side of the road

• Along the road you'll see a blue mosque with golden dome on the left side of the road

• Immediately after the mosque, turn left into Jalan Merdeka. Continue straight down Jalan Merdeka, which will then lead into Jalan Dato’ Muda Jaafar

• You will then pass Maybank on your right, and the Market and Bus Station on your left. At the top of the intersection, turn left into Jalan Raja Turai

• At the first traffic lights, turn right into Taman Juta. Head down this road where you will pass the Klinik Kesihatan KKB on your left. Look out for the left turn-off where there is a signpost for “Akademi Bomba”. After turning left, the Race Base Camp will be just a short distance down that road

• Please check-in to the accommodation quarters through the gates on the left hand side
