1994: Developed many of the classic routes and rock climbing sites in Malaysia. The fledgling retail business organised and sponsored the equipping of almost every rock climb in the country in the initial years of the sport.
1996: First white water kayaking outfitters in Malaysia. Today we are one of the largest white water rafting operators in the country, and the first company to invest in having our guides assessed and certified to Australian national-level safety and rescue standards.
1999: First indoor rock climbing gym in Malaysia, The Summit Climbing Gym. To date we have introduced more than 10,0000 people to the sport. This full service facility also features an outdoor equipment gear shop.
1999: Managed Toyota Team 2020, the first Asian team ever to complete an Eco Challenge race. The team went on to complete 4 Eco Challenges, winning the Team Spirit Award in 2002. Our media campaign made adventure racing and Eco Challenge a household word in Malaysia.
2001: Nomad Adventure organised the first adventure race series in the country. With two to three races every year, the Eco X-Series has established itself in Malaysia and regionally as "a racer's race".
2003: We designed and produced Malaysia's first urban adventure race. The event is one of the many lifestyle adventure events we have created.
2004: We were the first company to discover and develop commercial white water rafting trips at Sg Kampar, Gopeng. Since then, we have developed a multitude of adventure activity sites in the area.
2005: Nomad Adventure worked with AXN Asia to create the AXN Canon Extreme Challenge, a television special where ordinary people performed extraordinary high-level stunts. Highlights included a Cargo net climb from 16th to 18th floor of Summit Tower.
2006: We began offering adventure-based and custom-designed team building programs to a variety of corporate clients.
2008: Nomad Adventure purchased Earth Camp, a six acres land that provides our clients with accommodation facilities - tree house and greenhouse dorms. Earth Camp is also a centre of environmental education where we provide adventure and environmental education activities that foster within people from all walks of life the appreciation, knowledge, values and skills necessary to inspire ecologically-sound decisions and actions.
